After Tat days

Here you see what Jane brought me when we were with Bonnie Geiger for a special lunch.

We have had a lot of fun just as at tat days. The night owl class was great !!!!!!!

I will tell y'all how many owls we have for the fair.

It will surprise you.

I find owls in all my bags .

Tatters you know that you still can make the finger tatted owl for the Palmetto's, so they can gave them to the visitors of the fair.

What was more at tat days We met a lot of newbies but also a lot of  tatters from the first years. They spoiled us by a lot of gifts and awful thing is, that I am not that well in remembering who gave me what. That is because I am an old lady now and in the former days, long time ago I was Blond !

So I say thank you to all the tatters that gave me a present.

So now we have to prepare for the next tat days Georgia all ready had a lot of suggestions on her blog. I will think about the night owl class, maybe I can let the night owls meed the sock monkeys. I got new sock monkeys also at tat days. 

I will think about all this You know it will be September 2013 before you know.

Time is going so fast.

Just some news

I like this kind of pictures. Edwin (my sun) wants to show me the neighborhood he is staying with his wife Alice and Nora. He was walking with Nora and Alice took the picture Isn't it nice  

  This is what they see looking out of their very small trailer.

Nora loves to catch all kind of little insects. She has find a bosom friend and those two little ones were catching for more than 2 hours grasshoppers  

Here she has 2 grasshoppers in her hand. They have put them in a glass top and put also leaves in the top.
When they brought the first one home Alice talked with them and the 2 promised to let them free in the evening , because you can't take them in your bed. They catches more than 30.
I find almost every day some pictures with a small story on face book.
BTW have you seen that there are 89 tatters coming to tat days .
I hope you all remember that you can ask for Ineke's books just till to morrow(Sunday)evening.  

The projects of Ineke Kuiperij in 2012

As I told you in my e-mail here are the projects Ineke made this year. She used materials she had a long time  things you can't buy The long project on the left under is a flower made on a stone with 2 pieces of metal I think it is wonderful.
The project on the top are Magnolia's and The squares on the right are 3d projects put in a metal thing she had.
I didn't see them I only have a small booklet there is an explanation how she did it but not a pattern. But I think it is so nice.
I will bring with me to the tatdays, this booklet, so you can see how she worked.

An amazing weekend

I have had an amazing weekend. I am a member of a bobbin lace guild and this guild had an exposition because it was their third lustrum.  And... what was very nice!!! The guild allowed me to show my tatting Here you see my three dollies designed by myself and my shuttles (the Palmetto's know : I don't smoke I don't drink, so I can buy those expensive shuttles) 

Here you see my special project what I tatted for the memory corner of my son Wilbert, placed on a wonderful bobbin lace table cloth.  

This is also very special The members of the guild made each a small part of bobbin lace in a special color One of the members put them all together in this nice kind of a quilt. It is very thin just like a curtain and hanging in front of a white board.

Here you see shuttles between the bobbin lace, but also a bottle with liqueur on the bottle is a picture of a lady who is making bobbin lace

Here is my tree next to colored bobbin lace bracelets and some other small projects.

It was all wonderful, we had a  lot of visitors and were really tired
at the end of the two days But it was worth it to do all those work.
I also want to show you Nora laying on the hay in a barn. Her mum said I am happy she is still alone on that hay.

Here you see how nice it is 

You see the nice lamp, she made it special for me It is a white lamp and than there is special paste and special paper I think the result is really nice.
It burning at this moment and it really gave a nice light. I am very proud.
Then on the left you see another present a nice picture that can hang on the wall. There are three pictures from Nora and a card Nora draw the hearts and mama wrote :
Dear Oma Moeke Happy 76 birthday  a fat kiss amd hug from Nora.
The writing is in Dutch ofcourse but I translated it.

This lamp is also made by Nora it is a special one She used it to go to the different family's in the street to sing a song and get some sweets They do that in her city at 11 November is a special day on which we remember St Maarten. 

Busy,Busy

With our bobbin lace guild, we are very busy preparing an exhibition. I am in that guild to help the members with learning tatting. So I don't have done much on the bobbin lace
I found an old map with my first work and that is long ago, it was in the years 1980 and 1981.
Alice my daughter in law is helping me by arranging the pieces of lace in a frame. Nora was helping her but than she called me if she could have a piece of lace, because she wanted to make a frame by herself and here you see her with her artwork.

I also was very busy with my workshops for the tatdays But it was on time at the Palmetto's I am looking out for the tatdays and hope to see a lot of you over there.

Remember Gina the Tattinggoddess

This little monkey remembers me all the monkey stuff at the Tat days  every year with the Palmetto tatters.
The monkey and the bag is made by Gina the Tatting goddess It was in an exchange what I remember very well, because almost at the end of the exchange my eldest sun died I wrote it to Gina that I couldn't make my product for the exchange and she said don't worry I take care. 
And I really was surprised that there was a parcel for me. The parcel with this inside.
The monkey was always with me and it was this monkey that started all the other monkeys The 4 sock monkey's that came out at the banket, and than last year the cross stitched monkey and the earrings knitted by a tatter.
That all started with Gina.
She was a great tatter that left a lot of patterns.
I always will remember her and the monkey will help to do that
